Show Up
Come through on the night. Bring a friend, bring your family, bring your coworkers. A full room sends a message.
BASONOVA Shop the Block
One Business. One Night. One Community.
We don't just talk community. We show up.
Shop the Block mobilizes Black Northern Virginia to intentionally support one Black-owned business at a time—by showing up together and spending locally. From time to time we may also feature businesses that demonstrate a meaningful commitment to the Black community.

Why Showing Up Together Matters
One person stopping by is a sale. A whole community stopping by is momentum. Collective support gives a local business a visible, meaningful boost it can feel right away.
It also builds relationships. When we meet the owners, learn their story and become regulars, we're not just customers—we're neighbors invested in each other.
And it lasts beyond one night. Ongoing patronage is what helps Black-owned businesses grow, hire and stay rooted in Northern Virginia.
How It Works
02
Spend Local
Order a meal, buy a round, grab something to take home. Every dollar spent with a local Black-owned business stays closer to home.
03
Keep Supporting
One night is the start, not the finish. Come back, leave a review, tell people. Ongoing patronage is what keeps doors open.
